We how you and your family have a safe and happy Halloween.

We also hope you don’t get too scared by all the monsters and ghosts you will see that night.

More importantly, we hope that you keep your mouth healthy. Unfortunately, millions of Americans have trouble with this as a result of dental anxiety.

This is something that we understand at Blankenship Family Dentistry. It’s why we are happy to say that we have helped many patients from Stone Mountain, GA and the surrounding area overcome their worries.

We would love to help you, too.

Today, we’ll describe some of the ways you can ease your anxiety at our office. You also can call 770-766-8995 if you have questions about us or our approach to patient care and comfort.

Make Your Comfort a Priority

You will find that we want you to feel at ease and at comfy as you can be when you visit our office. Our compassionate dental professionals make every effort to help you relax.

That includes answering any questions you may have about your cleaning or other treatment.

When you go back to one of our patient rooms, we will gladly offer you a comfy blanket. Many patients appreciate the cozy feeling they getting from having one.

You also may enjoy having a distraction. Giving yourself something else to focus on (besides your dental care) can make that cleaning easier to sit through.

A great option is listening to music. You are more than welcome to bring your own headphones or earbuds, then you can listen to your favorite band or maybe a podcast. Before you know it, your teeth could be clean, and you can be on your way.

Something you may not have considered is the option of scheduling a longer appointment. For patients who start to feel overwhelmed, this can be a real relief. When you have more time, you won’t feel rushed. You can take a break if you start to feel nervous.

This lets you break up your treatment into smaller segments. This way you can get your oral care done in a way that you can handle.

Stay Pain-Free During Your Care

We also know that many people have a sincere worry about pain during their procedures.

This may because of things they’ve seen on television or movies, things they’ve heard from a friend or relative, or a personal experience from years ago.

Well, the good news is that there is a way to avoid that pain. In addition to using modern dental techniques and technologies, we also offer oral conscious sedation. This will help you feel calm and relaxed, and it prevents you from feeling pain as well.

If you do choose this option, then you should make arrangements for someone else to bring you to and from your appointment. The effects of oral sedation can last for a few hours.
